This is an introductory course for brass jewelry design beginners, starting with inspirational sketches and guiding you step-by-step to create your own handmade jewelry. In the course, you will learn basic metalworking techniques, including hands-on experience with metal cutting and sawing, grinding methods, basic welding, and texture rendering, allowing you to create pieces with a personal style. Finally, we will introduce simple material cost calculations and pricing concepts to help you understand how to transform your creations into marketable products. Suitable for anyone interested in design, handicrafts, and personal branding!
What will you learn in this course?

Lesson 1 (Part 1): Material Introduction and Initial Hands-on Experience
Introduces the properties of different metals, and the safe operation of metalworking tools and equipment. Guides students to manually saw and cut brass sheets, learn drilling and grinding techniques, and practice their skills.

Lesson 2 (Part 1): Texture Making and Welding Practice
Demonstration welding: Earring pins, brooches, plate rings, and double-layered flat metal. Application of texture: Including hammer texture, stamp texture, and other striking techniques. Explanation of structural details to help students solve technical problems encountered during the creative process.

Lesson 3 (Part 1): Cost Concepts and Results Sharing
The event includes final touches on the artwork, a pricing exercise, and a sharing of results. It also provides sales methods and entrepreneurial experience, and encourages reflection on the connection between creation and the market.

Lesson 1 (Part 2): Design Composition and Technique Demonstration
Students bring their personal sketches for discussion and optimization. The instructor demonstrates grinding techniques for different metal thicknesses, as well as the manufacturing methods for rings and keychains, including welding and acid etching. Students then begin practical work based on their designs.

Lesson 2 (Part 2): Surface Treatment and Style Presentation
The final stage involves choosing surface treatments, teaching polishing techniques, and enhancing the overall quality of the work. Individual discussions will cover the stylistic positioning of each piece, and the basic calculation methods for material costs will be explained.
