Lesson 1 (Part 1): Basic Cutting and Grinding Techniques and Texture Application

This course teaches basic sawing, polishing, and the creative application of "hammered texture." Through making your own hammering tools, you will create rhythmic and textured metal surfaces. Then, through hands-on welding, you will complete at least one hammered texture ring.

Lesson 2 (Part 1): Fold-Forming and Reverse Wrapping Techniques

The basic concepts and applications of folding forming techniques, through steps such as folding, annealing, and stretching, transform a flat metal sheet into a three-dimensional shape with curves and a sense of structure. It also demonstrates the reverse wrapping technique for creating bracelets with a strong forged style.

Lesson 4 (Part 1): Finalizing the Project and Sharing the Work

The final class will focus on finishing the details of unfinished projects (such as trimming, sanding, polishing, and assembling) and will include a small sharing session.
The course invites participants to share their production process and provides further suggestions. It also briefly guides future creative directions, including how to integrate a series, apply it to product design, or connect it to more advanced courses.

Lesson 1 (Part 2): Techniques for Applying Texture

This lesson introduces various methods of embossing textures, explores different embossing materials, examines the possibilities of visual changes and jewelry applications, and creates several material samples to serve as materials for future creations. Finally, by combining these techniques with woodworking, students will complete at least one pair of earrings.

Lesson 2 (Part 2): Flanged Rings and Round Punching Tools

This article introduces the application and shape control of the spinner technique in jewelry, demonstrating how to create a well-structured brass ring by combining rubbing and welding techniques. It explains how to create convex and concave surfaces and bowl-shaped shapes, and explores the application of these three-dimensional structures in jewelry design.

Lesson 3 (Part 2): Integrated Application and Individual Counseling

The instructor will provide one-on-one technical guidance and design advice to help students integrate what they have learned in the previous lessons and complete 3 to 5 pieces in their personal series.

The works to be created in this course

This course focuses on "three-dimensional modeling," using brass to create structural works.
The course content includes: basic sawing and polishing, as well as various three-dimensional metal finishing techniques such as hammering, rolling, folding, round punching, flanging, and gem setting.
The course aims to enable students to master diverse techniques and apply them in their work to create more layered and varied designs. Students are expected to create at least 3-5 pieces by the end of the course.

Who is this course suitable for?

This course is open to all learners, regardless of their background. Anyone interested in creating metal jewelry and willing to try different techniques is welcome to participate.
This intermediate-level course covers a variety of three-dimensional modeling and texture treatment techniques, making it suitable for learners who wish to further expand their creative expression. Those without prior metalworking experience can also participate, but it is recommended to first complete the introductory course, " Designing and Making Brass Jewelry from Scratch ," which will help in mastering the operational procedures and technical applications more smoothly.
